The Pie Valley Buggies chassis was designed to fit underneath the hundreds of fibreglass body shells originally destined to sit on a VW Beetle floor pan. It uses an MGF donor vehicle, so has an exotic mid-engine layout. With a bit of ingenuity and careful recycling of donor components, the end result can be surprisingly affordable. Shorter wheelbase designs can be accommodated, too.
This version of the chassis has been developed and stress tested

under the watchful eye of Robin Hall of HEAD vehicle engineering

and design, and makes extensive use of laser cut tube and plate

parts in its construction.

Hundreds of these body-shells are lurking in sheds and periodically

appear on eBay. Several new beach buggy shells are available

from Doon, East Coast Buggies and Kingfisher Kustoms, and new Nova and Eagle body-shells are available in Belgium from Poly Creations.

An MGF cutaway drawing, and some possibilities....all of these cars use a VW Beetle floorpan!
